Umberto Giannini is a British hair care brand named after the hairdresser Umberto Giannini. It makes affordable salon-quality products for home use, with a clear focus on curls, waves and frizzy hair. All products are vegan and cruelty-free. The range includes shampoo, conditioner, styling and care products, plus the Curl, Frizz, Grow and Volume lines. There is also a children's line called Mini Curls and sets per curl type.
The range is organised by hair need, so the easiest starting point is your hair type and your main concern. Curly and wavy hair usually needs moisture and definition, which is what the Curl line focuses on. Frizz, caused by humidity or heat styling, calls for smoothing and heat protection. If you are unsure of your curl type, the sets for type 2 (wavy), type 3 (curly) and type 4 (coily) give you a complete routine in one go. A good routine generally follows three steps: cleanse, condition, then style. Keep in mind that styling products define and control the hair, but they do not repair damage permanently. Regular conditioning treatments are what keep the hair in good condition over time.
Shampoo is the first step of any routine, and the choice depends on your hair type. The Curl Jelly Wash Shampoo is made for wavy and curly hair and cleanses without stripping moisture. For frizzy hair there is a Frizz Fix shampoo, and the Rosemary Oil Shampoo is aimed at the scalp. Wash the scalp thoroughly and let the foam run through the lengths rather than rubbing them. Curly hair tends to be drier, so you often do not need to wash it daily.

Conditioner adds moisture and makes detangling easier, which matters most for curly and frizzy hair. The Curl Jelly Care Conditioner pairs with the Curl Jelly Wash Shampoo and suits waves and curls. Apply it to the lengths and ends, leave it for a couple of minutes and rinse well. Comb through while the conditioner is still in the hair to avoid breakage. Fine hair can get weighed down by too much product, so use a small amount.

This group covers products you use after washing, such as creams, serums, oils and sprays. The Weatherproof Curls Finishing Cream helps hold the shape of your curls in humid weather. A leave-in product like the Curl Jelly Shine Leave-In Conditioning Curl Balm adds softness without a hard finish. Apply styling products to damp hair for the best result. Use a small amount first, because too much can make hair feel heavy or sticky.
The Curl line is built around the Curl Jelly routine: shampoo, conditioner, then a styling product. The Curl Jelly Scrunching Gel defines curls without making them stiff, while the Curl Whip Curl-Activating Mousse gives a lighter hold. Dry or damaged curls can benefit from the Curl Bond Emulsion. On day two or three, the Curl Jelly Refresh: Curl Reviving Spritz revives the shape without a full wash. Scrunch the product into damp hair and let it dry without touching it, which helps limit frizz.
Apply styling products to damp, not dripping, hair. Scrunch upwards and avoid brushing once the curls have set. A diffuser or air drying both work well.

Frizz products smooth the hair and make it easier to manage. The routine starts with the Frizz Fix shampoo, conditioner and mask. Use a heat protectant such as the Heat Shield Frizz Control Heat Protection Spray before blow-drying or flat ironing. Finish with an oil or cream such as the Blow Out Frizz Styling Cream. Keep in mind that these products control frizz but do not change your natural hair structure.

Healthy hair starts at the scalp, and this line focuses on it. The Grow Scrub Scalp Scrub removes dead skin cells and product build-up. The Growth Protein Oil nourishes the hair and adds shine. These products support scalp care and the condition of the hair, but they are not a medical treatment for hair loss. If you notice heavy or sudden hair loss, it is wise to consult a doctor.
