A somewhat underexposed, but nevertheless important hairdressing product is the barber's stool. Also called hairdresser's stool, cutting stool or cutting bicycle. This is because with a comfortable, ergonomic barber's stool you can easily maneuver yourself around your client and cut from a responsible body position!
Because as a hairdresser you cut for quite a few years, it is good to consider ergonomics and your posture. Therefore, we explain below what you can pay attention to when buying a barber's stool. That way, the hairdresser's stool will fit your needs seamlessly and you can be sure that you are choosing the right stool!
Saddles with a flat surface are not approved by the ARBO service in the Netherlands. Can't you use these then? Well, yes you can. Do you work for yourself in a one-man business (home hairdresser or itinerant hairdresser)? Then you can just use it because only you use it. But do you employ staff? Then you may not present these stools with flat saddle to them.
Although there are stools without wheels, you can only buy a barber's stool with wheels from us (i.e. a real rolling stool). All wheels rotate 360 degrees and make you extremely flexible. You easily roll around your client while you are cutting them.
One wheel system we specifically want to take a moment to mention are the Sibel RollerCoasters. These products contain a 100% hair-resistant wheel system. This looks neater to your customers, ensures that your roller stool rolls effortlessly (and keeps rolling) and that you have to clean less. And that saves time and money!
As for a difference in price: barber stools with plastic wheels are cheaper than stools with rubber wheels. In fact, with rubber wheels, the hairdresser's stool rolls just a little easier.
As with wheels, you will also find only barber stools with pump. Thanks to the pump, you can adjust the saddle seat to just the right cutting height. This way you automatically assume the correct body position for cutting, which in turn is often better for your back, arms and maybe even hands! Of course you can easily pump the saddle seat up, and you can also easily lower the barber's saddle stool again.
